SDG7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. Our high-income economies are experiencing the inconvenient of accessing to non-affordable, non-reliable, and non-sustainable energy. Even worse, in some low- to medium-income economies access to modern energy is anything but possible. Climate change is also pressing to advance in the decarbonization of our energy consumption, whose electrification has revealed as the main path to reach our goals. Distributed resources, particularly, renewable energies and batteries, and demand response, shows up as levers for affordability, reliability, and sustainability worldwide. Altogether, distribution networks are becoming the playing field for reshaping energy systems along the lines of SDG7. During this seminar, we describe some of the mathematical models and applications that are supporting our research objective of accelerating clean and reliable energy for all.
